I’m still closed until an unknown date in the future.
Last week the State shut down all Hair Salons.
Now Ohio has ordered the Shelter in place to all non essential businesses.
I will be continuing to contact scheduled appointments to cancel.
Once I have a date to Reopen, I will reschedule all appointments in the order which they were canceled.
Thank you so much for all the support.
So, I’ve been thinking and praying a lot about how to handle the next couple weeks as COVID-19 continues to impact us all. A weekend spent absorbing the latest updates. The Governments world wide are posting new recommendations and restrictions daily. We’ve seen travel restrictions, closing schools, limiting gatherings, closing bars and restaurants. I believe other businesses will soon follow based on what has happened in Italy. So much has changed in just a few days. Having never experienced this kind of situation, It is challenging to know how to respond. So Please Be Patient as I handle my first Pandemic.
The CDC recommends increasing social distancing. Well for my business, It’s not uncommon for me to nearly climb into your lap to get the right application of a highlight, trim your bangs, or tweak your eyebrows. Doing my job requires being unavoidably up-close and personal. sometimes just 6 inches or so from your face. what if I sneeze on you? Distance is impossible for me to maintain.
Last week I did extra sanitation to ensure a clean sanitary space. This I know a lot about- so it was easy to manage. I also adopted the elbow bump to replace hugging- this was probably the hardest part.
Last week I also suggested canceling if you are sick. This is problematic... Screening a customers health is kind of tough for a Salon to do. Even with guidelines. Heres why …. For some carriers there could be minimal symptoms. Not everyone will spike a fever. Think about it , this time of the year who doesn’t get a sniffle, runny nose, some sneezing due to allergies or whatever else? How am I supposed to know the difference? how can you know the difference? If I sneeze could I unknowingly spread the virus? yes its possible.
The whole point of being cautious is to SLOW THE CURVE…. so as not to overwhelm the healthcare system. So that ALL of the sick can be treated.
I come in close contact with people of all ages young- elderly. I am not willing to be a method for the sickness to travel faster and cause unnecessary problems for other families.
With much uncertainty and Things changing every day now I weigh the options Good vs. Bad. Sitting on the side of caution when it comes to a hair appointment does more good than bad.
Be Radiant by Rebecca will be temporarily closed thorough March 30th.
At this point I will reevaluate and get back in touch. I will be contacting clients over the coming days. I’m also available for encouragement if you’d like to chat.
I love and appreciate all of my clients and want to thank you all for your love, support, kindness, and understanding.
Sending out Prayers to Our Government, Leaders, Health Care Workers, and the rest of us. Be Well.
We will all get through this together.
